Covid19 Safety Procedures

Stage Talent COVID-19 Safety Procedures and Guidance

Stage Talent Academy instrumental tuition in schools and theatres in guidance with COVID-19 safety procedures.

The government guidance for extra-curricular activities states that instrumental teachers can resume tuition:

"Supply teachers, peripatetic teachers and/or other temporary staff can move between schools".

With that in mind Stage Talent will implement the following procedures from September 2020:

Use of music rooms:

Stage Talent will ensure that:

Wherever suitable children will be asked to wear a face mask.

Rooms are ventilated between lessons (wherever possible windows will be opened for an interval of 5 minutes)

Instruments such as pianos or keyboards will be disinfected with antibacterial wipes before and after every lesson.

Children will be asked to use their own instrument (guitar, violin etc)

Door knobs will also be wiped/disinfected.

Pupils and parents will be required to maintain social distancing at all times.

Pupils will be discouraged from knocking and coming in. Instead, pupils will be called in by the teacher to avoid touching doors and overcrowding in corridors and music rooms.

Pupils will be asked to clean/wash/disinfect their hands before and after visiting a music room.

Teachers will:

Wear a mask during the lesson

Use their own instrument where applicable

If needed to play the same instrument as the student (ie piano) the teacher will wear gloves so as to avoid contamination and/or use wipes to disinfect immediately.

Other Equipment:

For individual and very frequently used equipment, such as pencils and pens, staff and pupils will have their own items that are not shared.

Note books can be used by the children only, to record any key info.

Online resources will be used by teachers to leave notes on students portals about lesson notes and any other relevant information.

We will update the guidelines inline with the government regulations
